Former Minister and the Leader of the All Ceylon Muslim Congress Rishad Bathiudeen has been questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department today for over five hours over the malpractices at Lanka Sathosa.
On a prior notification, the former minister has arrived at the CID at around 11.30 this morning.
Rishad Bathiudeen was summoned to the CID to record a statement regarding an investigation into a fraud committed during the importation of rice to Lanka Sathosa in 2017.
It has been reported in February 2020 that the CID had recovered 67 documents and files pertaining to large scale fraudulent transactions allegedly committed by Rishad Bathiudeen through Sathosa rice imports. These files had been found at a house belonging to the former minister in Colombo.
