The controversial Batticaloa Campus is to be taken over by the Education Ministry, President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday.
He said that the syllabus of the campus will be reviewed.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) had said this week that no organization has been given the authority to conduct degree courses at the university also known as the ‘Sharia University’ in Batticaloa.
