Families of those 11 youths who were disappeared in Colombo in 2008 have handed over petition consisting of their demands to the International Community. They, who went to the offices of the Canadian Embassy, American Embassy, UN Office, British Embassy and European Union Office, have handed over their petition to the representatives of the International Community.
After handing over the petition, they have staged an attention drawn struggle in front of the home of ex-president Mahinda Rajapakse condemning this abduction happened during the previous regime. Then, they have to Switzerland Embassy to hand over the petition.
It is noteworthy that those 6 persons including the former Sri Lankan Navy Spokesperson, who were arrested by the CID in the month of June last year as per the investigations carried out by the present government with regard to the 11 youths were abducted in Colombo in 2008, have been released on bail.
