Activities of farming the freshwater aquaculture are going to be carried out, K.Vamathevan, the Chairman of Chavakacheri Pradeshiya Sabha stated.
According to the general perceptions of the general public and the members of the Pradeshiya Sabha, renovating the streets, fixing the street lights and disposing the wastes are the tasks that are supposed to be done by Pradeshiya Sabha.
Investments are important to develop our area. Areas that are suitable for freshwater aquaculture are identified in the Chavakacheri Pradeshiya Sabha.
5000 acres including 1500 acres of Santhapuram in Mattuvil, 1500 acres of Kaithady and 2000 acres of Thanankilappu are identified as the areas that are suitable for freshwater aquaculture and proposal has been prepared for this.
Discussions with regard to receiving funds and finding the investors for this with proper permissions are being taken place, he added.
Employment opportunities and earning revenue in the long term would be possible if freshwater aquaculture is done in this area, he highlighted.
