As the solution for the protest demanding the release of the appropriated lands of people is yet to be met, it is decided to blockade the Mullaitivu District Secretariat today.
This is expected to be staged by the Social organizations, political representatives and the public at 9.30 am today.
Demanding the release of their native lands appropriated by the occupying Sri Lankan military, people have been continuously staging the hunger strikes and other forms of non violent means of struggles at Keppapulau, Pilakkudiyiruppu, Puthukkudiyiruppu and Paravipanchan. University Community, students, political representatives and representatives from other communities have expressed their solidarity with these protests.
Particularly, parliamentarian S. Sivamohan is engaged in hunger strike in Puthukkudiyiruppu area. Also, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, the leader of the Tamil National People’s Front have visited people of Paravipanchan yesterday.
