Military checkpoints set up in Vavuniya to detect explosive laden trucks

Four permanent military barriers have been set up on roads covering a larger region in Vavuniya after the Sri Lankan military has received intonation of 20 suspicious vehicles.

The security units have received information that 20 trucks laden with explosives have come to the north from South. Accordingly, the military has set up the barriers on the roads.

These permanent military barricades have been established since yesterday. All vehicles entering the city and driving out of the city are checked at the road blocks,

The information on the suspicious vehicles have been released to the public and also posted at the checkpoints.
