Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has been restrained from demonstrating against the government by a court order obtained by the Kaluwanchikudy Police, TNA MP M.A. Sumanthiran said.
“MP Rasamanickam has been restrained from demonstrating against the government by a court order obtained by the Kaluwanchikudy Police! Again, shows that law enforcement in the North East is different from the rest of the country. Over to those who wonder why North East is reacting differently now!!,” Sumanthiran tweeted.
It was reported that the Kaluwanchikudy Magistrate’s Court has ordered MP Rasamanickam not attend any anti-government protests for 14 days from April 29.
Meanwhile, parliamentarian Rasamanickam said he had absolutely no idea on why he was issued such court order.
