Muslim MPs resigned from their ministerial portfolios sworn-in again as Ministers

The group of Muslim Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers, who resigned from their ministerial portfolios, were sworn in to their previous posts again before President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence last evening (July 29).

Accordingly, Rauff Hakeem has been sworn in as cabinet Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education while Rishad Bathiudeen took oath as cabinet Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development.

Ameer Ali Mohamed Shihabdeen was sworn in as State Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Economic Affairs. Abdullah Maharoof took oath as Deputy Minister of Ports and Shipping.

Meanwhile, Buddhika Pathirana, who functioned as the acting minister in lieu of Rishad Bthiudeen was reassigned as State Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development.
