Muslim World League donates $5 million to support victims of Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka

Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa has announced the donation of $5 million from the Muslim World League to support the victims and families of the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Secretary-General handed over the donation to President Maithripala Sirisena at the end of the National Conference on Peace, Harmony and Coexistence held at Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo Tuesday.

The National Conference on Peace, Harmony, and Coexistence commenced Tuesday under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and with the participation of religious leaders of all faiths. Secretary-General of the Muslim World League joined the conference as the chief guest.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, who is visiting Sri Lanka to engage with leaders on promoting interfaith dialogue and peace, called on the Chief Prelate of Malwatte Chapter Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera and the Chief Prelate of Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero yesterday in Kandy.

Dr. Al-Issa also met Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela and held discussions with him.
