NFF asks President to convene an all-party conference to resolve the ongoing crisis

The National Freedom Front (NFF) reiterates that an all-party conference should be convened to resolve the ongoing crisis.

NFF Leader MP Wimal Weerawansa in a letter to the President Ranil Wickremesinghe says that a program according to a strategic approach as well as the presentation of a road map to the country with common agreement of all parties can gain public confidence.

Responding to the President’s request to all parties to jointly implement a national all-party program to create economic and social stability, Weerawansa said an all-party conference is important to gain public confidence by presenting the vision, strategic plan and accordingly the program as well as a road map to the country with common agreement.

It will also be important to neutralize the political weapon in the hands of fake protesters or imperialist operatives, the NFF leader said.

He said the President should understand that an all-party program prepared with his old advisors cannot win the trust of the other political parties and the public and pointed out that “from the day you assumed the post of Prime Minister and after becoming the President until now, you have failed to present such a program to the country.”

“Therefore, we reiterate that an all-party conference should be convened immediately to resolve the crisis.”

NFF leader MP Weerawansa reminded that it is more important to learn a lesson from ex-President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who acted unilaterally and stubbornly to solve the crisis.
