People of Silavaththurai, who get engaged in protest, filed a petition at Human Rights Commission in Mannar yesterday stating that they, who had been intimidated and photographed in the manner of threatening by unidentified, requested the Human Rights Commission to protect them.
Occupying Sri Lanka Navy has been occupying the 36 acres of lands owned by the people in Musali Divisional Secretariat by setting up their camps.
People of Sivathurai has been staging continuous protest since Wednesday demanding their lands be released by shifting the Navy Camps somewhere else from these lands belonging to more than 218 people.
Meanwhile, People of Silavaththurai, who get engaged in protest, filed a petition through Mannar Socio Economic Development Institute at Human Rights Commission in Mannar yesterday stating that they, who had been intimidated and photographed in the manner of threatening by unidentified, requested the Human Rights Commission to protect them.
They further emphasized that they would continue their protest till their lands get released.
