Special Police protection has been provided to the premises of Neeraviyadi Pillaiyar temple in Naayaru. When the hearing with regard to the Buddha statue erected at the temple premises took place at the Mullaitivu Magistrate Court, the further hearing in this regard has been dated to 12th of February and temporary injunction has been made for the works with regard to the Buddha statue.
It is notable that the Special Police protection has been provided to the temple premises after the Director General of Archaeological Department has been called to appear before the Court.
