A month-long Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) between Sri Lanka Navy and US Army in Trincomalee concluded yesterday (March 30) with a certificate awarding ceremony.
The JCET Balance Style 2020/01 commenced on 02nd March at the Special Boat Squadron HQ in Trincomalee with the participation of 35 Sri Lanka Navy personnel – 24 from the Special Boat Squadron (24) and 11 from the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla.
The JCET was augmented by six trainers from US Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFOD A) Team 1333.
The four-week long exercise focused on Human Rights, Law of Armed Conflict, Small Unit Tactics, Military Operations in Urban Environment, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Combat Marksmanship, Close Quarter Battle, Mission Planning, Maritime Operations etc. which helped develop professional skills and exchange of knowledge between personnel of US Army and Sri Lanka Navy.
Deputy Area Commander of Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Sanjeewa Dias participated as the Chief Guest at the award ceremony. Commanding officer 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, Commanding Officer Special Boat Squadron, members from the Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 1333 of US Army and naval personnel from the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla and Special Boat Squadron were present on this occasion.
