Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says he will conduct discussions with the Maha Sangha on improving Buddhism within the country.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said steps will be taken with the participation of Education, Buddha Sasana and Cultural Affairs ministries to promote cooperation and harmony among all religions in the country.
The Premier made this statement speaking to the media following his visit to the Chief Prelate of Kotte Sri Kalyani Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha, Ven. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero.
The PM said he discussed the activities planned by the Education, Cultural and Buddha Sasana Ministries with the Chief Prelate and the Theo gave his blessings to go forward creating cooperation between different religions in the country.
Minister of Social empowerment Daya Gamage also participated in the occasion.
