Sri Lanka PM says government ready for a discussion with the protesting youth

The Government is ready to discuss the current crisis in the country with the youth who are engaged in protests at Galle Face Green in Colombo, says Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Prime Minister says that he is ready for a discussion with them to find a quick solution to this crisis.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the views of the Galle Face protestors will be taken up for discussion in order to overcome the challenges faced by the country at present. The Prime Minister made this invitation to the country’s youth at a time when the youth community is rallying against the current crisis in the country and demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Protests in Galle Face Green and in front of the Presidential Secretariat have been going on for the 5th consecutive day today demanding the resignation of the President and the government including the Prime Minister.
