Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who is undertaking a State Visit to India from 29-30 November 2019, is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (29).
Following the meeting at Hyderabad House, the two leaders are scheduled to issue Press statements.
Prior to meeting with PM Modi, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will host a ceremonial reception for his Sri Lankan counterpart at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
During the visit President Rajapaksa will also meet with other Indian dignitaries.
President Rajapaksa arrived in the Indian capital, New Delhi on Thursday (28) on an invitation extended by the Indian Prime Minister. He was received by Union Minister VK Singh.
The State Visit to India is the first overseas visit by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa since his assumption of Office as President of Sri Lanka, this month.
The President is accompanied by Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, Secretary to the President, Ravinatha Aryasinha, Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, S.R. Attygalle, Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Lalith Weeratunga, Advisor to the President.
