Five Tamil political parties have agreed to submit a 13-point proposal to the candidates contesting the presidential election.
Representatives of Tamil political parties stated that the agreement was reached during a discussion held in Jaffna.
Ilangai Thamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) Party leader Mavai Senathirajah, Tamil People’s Front leader CV Wigneswaran, TELO leader Selvam Adaikalanathan, EPRLF leader Suresh Premachandran, PLOTE leader Dharmalingam Siddharthan and Tamil People’s Council leader Gajendra Kumar Ponnambavan were present.
Gajendra Kumar Ponnambalam did not agree with the proposal and withdrew from the discussion while the other parties agreed on the proposal and was decided to present it to the Presidential candidates.
The five parties decided to support Presidential candidates based on their response to the stipulated set of proposals.
