The Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO), a constituent party of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), says if the TNA is to support the United National Party (UNP) to form a government, the two parties must agree to a conditional written agreement.
Former Northern Provincial Councilor, M. K. Shivajilingam said the Central Committee of TELO decided that support should not be given to the United National Front unless it agrees to a written agreement which should include five conditions to address the issues concerning Tamils.
The Central Committee of the TELO met at Vavuniya on Saturday and took this decision, he said. However, the party has decided not to disclose the five conditions to be included in the agreement until a final decision was taken.
TELO is one of the four parties that form the TNA and has two MPs, Selvam Adaikalanathan and K. Kotheeswaran in parliament.
