U.S. top official Alice Wells to visit Sri Lanka

United Stats Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells will visit Sri Lanka during her 11-day visit to the Indian subcontinent.

The Acting Assistant Secretary Wells is traveling to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India from August 6-16, the Department of State announced Wednesday.

“Acting Assistant Secretary Wells will hold bilateral consultations on issues of mutual interest with senior government officials in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India, in addition to meetings with business leaders and civil society,” the announcement said.

The U.S. top official is currently in Pakistan on the first leg of her visit.
