US commends Sri Lanka Justice Ministry’s ‘Access to Justice’ Mobile Service

A U.S. delegation comprising Charge d’ Affaires of United States Embassy Martin Kelly, Director- Governance and Vulnerable populations Office Reed Aeschliman and Mission Director of USAID Kevin Dean Tuesday called (February 08) on Sri Lanka’s Minister of Justice Mohamed Ali Sabry at the Ministry of Justice.

The U.S. delegation congratulated the Minister of Justice for the successful completion of the Legal and Humanitarian endeavor of providing an equal opportunity to all citizens of the country through “Access to Justice Mobile Service launched from the Northern Province by the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry said in a statement.

The Minister of Justice provided comprehensive update on the progress made on the extensive Law Reforms, Court Infrastructure, empowerment of the Judiciary and on the steps taken to provide the maximum possible services to the people of the North by the office of Missing Persons, Office of National Unity and Reconciliation, The office of Reparations and the Other institutes under the Ministry of Justice.

The Delegation pledged to extend their support to strengthen the vision and mission of the ministry of Justice under the leadership of the justice Minister.

Secretary of Ministry of Justice M.M.P.K Mayadunne, Additional Secretary Mr Thushara Suraweera, Private Secretary to the Minister of Justice, Janaka Ranatunga , Attorney at Law was present at the meeting.
