Continuous non violence means of struggle of the people of Pilakkudiyiruppu belonging to Keppapulavu GS Division has been staging for 15th day (Tuesday).
The non violence means of struggle demanding the release of the lands occupied by the Sri Lannkan military after removing the military camp ad Air force Base, which has been commenced 31st of last January, has been staging days and nights in the midst of snowy and sunny climate till toady. However, proper responds from the Sri Lankan government are yet to be received in this regard.
Meanwhile, the people, who stated that entering into the military camp by smashing the obstacles, emphasized that Sri Lankan government has to be accountable for the consequences of this.
While people from outside the Mullaitivu district are expressing their solidarity with this protest, political representatives of Tamil people is also expressing their support to this protest.
In the meantime, struggle taken forward by the people of Puthukkudiyiruppu in solidarity with the people of Pilakkudiyiruppu has reached its eleventh day. At a meeting held at Temple Trees last week, Ranil Wickramasinghe stated that lands would be released after removing the Military Camp located at Puthukkudiyiruppu.
People who are engaged in this protest firmly stated that they would not give up this protest till the promise made by Ranil is met.
