Female medical student of Jaffna University stabbed to death

A female student of the Jaffna University Medical Faculty was assaulted and stabbed to death in the Pannai lagoon area in Jaffna this afternoon (22).

Police said the victim was a third-year student of the Medical Faculty from Badanagoda, Beruwela.

The villagers have taken steps to hand over the suspected killer to the police.

The 30-year-old murder suspect is believed to be the victim’s lover and has been identified as an army soldier attached to the Paranthan Army camp.

The murder is believed to have been committed due to a dispute over the relationship.
