Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka yesterday warned in Parliament that he does not feel the threat posed by terrorism to Sri Lanka has been completely eliminated.
Fonseka slammed the statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena in Parliament day before yesterday where he had claimed that the threat had been mostly eliminated.
The former Army Commander said that more needs to be done to fully eliminate the threat.
He also said that information passed on to him showed that the threat from the Easter Sunday bombers has not been completely extinguished.
Fonseka said that the defence establishment must be strengthened to counter the threat.
