Jaffna based Journalist Uthayarasa Shalin has been called for investigation in Colombo by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID). Also, five others have also been called for investigation individually.
Temple festival of Aanaikottai Kannagai Amman temple took place last June. The traditional car of the goddess Amman, on which the goddess was rounding the streets adjacent to this temple at the final day of the festival, had been decorated in the shape of the Tamileelam Map merging the Northen and Eastern Provinces together.
This particular journalist, members of the Hindu Youths’ Association, members of the temple administration and the temple priest have been called for investigation in Colombo in this regard.
The TID that has gone to all of the homes of these abovementioned yesterday has given them Summon Notice to call for an investigation in Colombo.
Members of the temple administration and the people of this area were already called several times by the Intelligence Division of Kankesanthurai Police Station, Manippai Police Station and Kopai Army for investigations several times.
It was said that investigations brought to an end following the instructions given to the members of Hindu Youths’ Association and the president and the vice president of temple administration saying that such incidents should not be taken place in future after getting confessions from them.
Meanwhile, members of the temple administration have been called for investigation to be help on 16th of this month whereas Jaffna based journalist Uthayarasa Shalin has been called for investigation on 22nd of this month by TID.
The traditional car was not decorated having considered the ma of Tamileelam. It was decorated marking the areas where Tamils are living, which is mentioned in the text books also. No any hidden motive was there in the decoration that we did”, according to the members of the Temple Administration.
It should be noted that though this particular journalist is not a member of this temple administration, he has been called for investigation.
