The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is to be signed yesterday.
The MoU between the two parties will be signed in relation to the upcoming Presidential Election.
The signing of the MoU will take place at 10 am at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo, SLFP spokesman MP Weerakumara Dissanayake said.
The SLFP yesterday announced that the party has decided to support SLPP presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s election campaign with conditions.
SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said two MoUs are to be signed between the two parties. One agreement is to be signed between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the other agreement will be signed by the SLFP with the presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The MoU with Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be obtained as a pledge before the SLFP electoral and district organizers at a SLFP convention, the General Secretary further said.
