Two former governors appointed as chairpersons of state corporations

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed two former governors as chairpersons of state corporations.

Former Governor, of Northern Province Reginold Cooray was appointed as the Chairman of the National Gem and Jewelry Authority.

Former Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province Niluka Ekanayake has been appointed as the Chairperson of the State Timber Corporation.

The President handed over the appointment letters to them yesterday (09) at the Presidential Secretariat.

Former Governor of the Northern Province, Reginold Cooray and the former Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province, Niluka Ekanayake resigned from their respective posts recently on the request of the President.
