An attention drawn struggle has been staged condemning the action of pumping water from the Udayarkattu pond to the military run farms by means of big water pumps.
]people, who gathered at the Community Hall of Udayarkattu area with placards, marched to Paranthan-Mullaitivu road where they started protesting. Then the people, who had gone to the place where pumps are installed, staged their protest. The farmers, who expressed their anxieties by stating that their livelihood is severely affected because of this action of the Sri Lanka military, stated that they would hand over a petition in this regard to the Divisional Secretary and the District Secretary the next day. It is noted that farmers in many numbers have participated in this protest.
