The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) warns that the Covid-19 situation in the Colombo has become alarming.
Its General Secretary, Dr Haritha Aluthge said the Colombo District had reported 1,083 positive cases just within five days.
The risk that was observed in Gampaha District is now seen in Colombo District, he said, adding that more than 200 coronavirus infections were detected within the limits of Colombo Municipal Council every day for the past few days.
He also pointed out the risks of infection at construction sites in Colombo, where positive Covid-19 cases were reported among foreign nationals.
