The fishing boat of the one among those who rounded up and caught the Southern fishermen who catch sea cucumber illegally has been set on fire yesterday (Sunday) in Vadamaratchi East.
The fishing boat of Sebamalai Sujeepan of Mulliyan village in Vadamaratchi East has been set on fire. On last 20th, Southern fishermen who was catching sea cucumber illegally has been rounded up and caught by the fishermen of Mulliyan and the Southern fishermen have been handed over to the officers of the Department of Fisheries Resources.
Meanwhile, the fishing boat and the out boat engine worth of 4 lakhs belonging to Sujeevan, who assisted to catch the Southern fishermen who was catching sea cucumber illegally have been set on fire. Complaint has been lodged with regard to this incident at the Police Station.
