திருகோணமலை அஸ்ரப் துறைமுகத்திற்கு அமெரிக்க யுத்த கப்பலான UFF என்ஜேரேட் இன்று (24.08.18) காலை சென்றடைந்தாக இலங்கை கடற்படைத் தகவல்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளன. 208 அடி நீளமான இக்கப்பலானது 2 உலங்குவானூர்தி இறங்கு தளங்களை கொண்டிருப்பதுடன் 6 உலங்குவானூர்திகளை தம் வசம் வைத்துள்ளது. மேலும் 33 அதிகாரிகள் உட்பட 900 கடற்படை வீரர்கள் இந்தக் கப்பலில் பணிபுரிகின்றார்கள். இன்று சென்றடைந்த அக்கப்பலானது இம்மாதம் 28 ஆம் திகதி வரை அஸ்ரப் துறைமுகத்தில் தரித்து நிற்கும் எனவும் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
