தென்கிழக்கு லண்டனின், பெக்ஸ்லிஹீத் ஹாமில்டன் சாலை வீட்டில் ஏற்பட்ட தீ விபத்தில் இரண்டு குழந்தைகள் மற்றும் இரண்டு பெண்கள் உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர். மரணமாணவர்கள் இலங்கையர்கள் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
நேற்று வியாழக்கிழமை (18.11.21) லண்டன் நேரம் 20:30 மணியளவில் பெக்ஸ்லிஹீத்தின் ஹாமில்டன் சாலையில் உள்ள (Hamilton Road, Bexleyheath) வீட்டின் முதல் மாடியில் இருந்து இரண்டு பெண்கள் மற்றும் இரண்டு கைக்குழந்தைகள் மீட்கப்பட்டனர், ஆனால் நான்கு பேரும் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே மரணித்திருந்ததாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். உயிருக்கு ஆபத்தான நிலையில் காலில் காயம் அடைந்த ஒருவர் உட்பட இருவர் மருத்துவமனைக்கு கொண்டு செல்லப்பட்டனர். தீ விபத்துக்கான காரணம் சந்தேகத்திற்குரியதாக கருதப்படவில்லை என்று காவற்தறையினர் தெரிவித்தனர்.
அக்கம்பக்கத்தினர், குழந்தைகள் அலறுவதைக் கேட்டதாகவும், தீப்பிழம்பில் மூழ்கிய தனி மாடி வீட்டிற்கு வெளியே ஒரு கலக்கமடைந்த நிலையில் ஒருவரைக் கண்டதாகவும் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
இந்த நிலையில் இது உண்மையிலேயே ஒரு பயங்கரமான சம்பவம், இது வருத்தத்தையும் அதிர்ச்சியையும் அளிப்பதாகவும், இந்த கடினமான நேரத்தில் தங்கள் எண்ணங்கள் குடும்பத்தினர், நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் உள்ளூர் சமூகத்துடன் உள்ளன என LFB கமிஷனர் அண்டி ரோ குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். அத்துடன் நேற்று வியாழன் (18.11.21) இரவு 8.30 மணியளவில் ஹாமில்டன் சாலைக்கு ஆறு தீயணைப்பு வாகனங்களும் சுமார் 40 தீயணைப்பு வீரர்களும் வரவழைக்கப்பட்டதாக லண்டன் தீயணைப்புப் படை (LFB) தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
இதேவேளை இந்தத் தீவிபத்தில் மரணமானவர்கள் அராலி வடக்கை பிறப்பிடமாகவும், திருகொணமலை மற்றும் லண்டன வதிவிடமாகக் கொண்டவர்கள் என சமூகவலைத்தளப்பதிவுகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளன. எனினும் தீயில் மரணித்தவர்கள் குறித்து லண்டன் காவற்துறையினர் உத்தியோகபூர்வ தகவல்களை வெளியிடவில்லை.
